Johnny Depp is preparing to launch his own record label and has dispatched staff to scour London for new talent, according to a U.K. report. The Hollywood star initially embarked on a music career when he left school, playing with several rock groups before turning his attention to acting.

Depp remains a massive music fan and recently helped British band Babybird produce a new record by funding their studio time and even playing on several of their tracks. And now the “Pirates of the Caribbean” actor is said to be ready to launch his own label.

According to Britain’s The Sun, Depp has founded Unison Music and has hired talent scouts to search for new acts in the British capital. A source tells the publication, “Johnny has always been passionate about music. He’s taking a really hands-on approach to signing acts.”

“Obviously he can’t get to as many gigs as he would like but he’s got a good team around him and will personally vet any signings that they make.”

Jude Law has been voted the hottest dad in Hollywood - seeing off competition from Will Smith and even Darth Vader. The British actor, who has four children and a step-son in real life, came atop a survey by LoveFilm to find the “hottest film father” for his role as dad-of-two Graham Simpkins in “The Holiday”.

Will Smith came in second for his role as a dad in heart-warming drama “The Pursuit of Happyness”, in which he starred alongside his real-life son Jaden Smith. Bizarrely, “Star Wars” villain Darth Vader came in at number three as Luke Skywalker’s estranged dad, while childless George Clooney earned a place in the poll for his part in “One Fine Day” at number four.

LoveFilm editor Helen Cowley says, “While he may have a reputation for being a ladies’ man, Jude Law has proven he is a good father both on and off the screen and he sets pulses racing as the hottest film father we’ve ever seen. We were slightly surprised to see Lovefilm members vote Darth so highly on this list but clearly the dark side works for him.”

Other stars to make the top 10 include Liam Neeson, Sir Sean Connery, Bruce Willis and Patrick Dempsey.

The search for Bill and the possible romance between Sookie and Alcide begin next week on “True Blood” episode 3.03. Sookie heads to Jackson, Mississippi in the company of Alcide, a werewolf bodyguard assigned by Eric to protect her.

“There is definitely some [sexual] energy between the two of them,” said executive producer Alan Ball to EW. “It’s not like either one of them is looking for romance, but they’re thrown into several intense situations [and] it’s hard not to bond on a deeper level.”

Meanwhile, Franklin charms Tara, and gets Jessica out of a jam. Jason is distracted from his police exams, Bud reaches the end of his rope, Arlene copes with unexpected news and Eric bequeaths a gift to Lafayette. Haunted by visions from his past, Bill makes a surprising pledge of allegiance.

“It Hurts Me Too” airs Sunday, June 27 on HBO. Those craving for more “True Blood” after last night’s episode can enjoy a Postmortem featurette which is released on HBO’s official site right after an episode airs. The one for “Beautifully Broken” contains a footage about the significance of werewolves in the Nazi era.

Miley Cyrus got the party started with a rocking performance on the outdoor stage of 2010 MuchMusic Video Awards. Wearing black shorts and a revealing top, she pumped up the crowd with a “Party in the U.S.A.” performance.

The “Hannah Montana” actress who also co-hosts this June 20 event was backed by a number of dancers during the set. Moreover, she got Justin Bieber halfway through the performance. The Canadian pop star hopped on a bike, making the girls scream even louder.

Other performances of the evening came from the likes of Katy Perry, Ke$ha and Adam Lambert. Katy sang “California Gurls”, Ke$ha delivered “Tik Tok” and Adam entertained fans with “Whataya Want From Me”. Additionally, Justin also appeared on stage for another performance in addition to supporting Miley’s kick-off show.

Amanda Bynes has made her Twitter page some sort of news headline. On Saturday, June 19, the actress announced that she has quit appearing in front of cameras, tweeting “I don’t love acting anymore so I’ve stopped doing it.”

“Being an actress isn’t as fun as it may seem… If I don’t love something anymore I stop doing it,” she additionally laid the ground on her decision. Affirming that she is sure about what she stated, Bynes further wrote, “I know 24 is a young age to retire but you heard it here first I’ve retired.”

Bynes grew up on Nickelodeon shows, including “All That” and “The Amanda Show”, before moving to big screen. She made her film debut in 2002 “Big Fat Liar” in which she starred opposite Frankie Muniz. After some lead roles in films such as “What a Girl Wants” and “She’s the Man”, she landed supporting roles in “Hairspray” and “Easy A”.

There are practically two sets of popular reality shows taking place in Miami. “Kourtney and Khloe Take Miami” has begun filming in the warm city, and so will “Jersey Shore”. The Miami Herald reported that the deal is done to do the second season in Miami despite protests from the locals.

Over the past few weeks and since New Jersey is no longer an option to have the cast stripping to their skimpy clothes, the show’s team has been scouting location in Miami. Mynt Lounge near the Mynt Beach was told to clear up their area between March and April. However, owner Romain Zago is against the idea, saying “Miami Beach takes pride in the years it took to establish an upscale tourist attraction, and bringing this show to town would lessen that image. Any club or establishment that participates can and should be held liable for such mischievous behavior.”

The production is expected to be kicked off March 20 but the cast have not been notified with the new location. “The show told the cast to be ready for shooting on March 20 but still won’t tell any of them where it will be shooting,” a source told Radar Online. “They are gearing up to begin the show but first the cast needs to get blood work done and background checks.”

Lily Allen has reportedly invited a camera crew into her life to record a U.K. TV series about her latest fashion venture. The “Smile” singer is said to have agreed to star in a TV show about the launch of her designer clothing rental shop in London, called Lucy in Disguise, with her half-sister Sarah Owen.

The documentary will also follow Allen as she starts up her own record label. A source tells Britain’s The Sun, “Lily was approached about the TV show and thought it would help promote her new ventures as well as letting people get to know her a bit better.”

Allen previously tried her hand at TV when she hosted her own talk show, called “Lily Allen And Friends”, in 2008.

Before he died at the hand of prescription drugs, Corey Haim was approached by VH1 to take part on “Celebrity Fit Club”. Unfortunately, the offer was rejected because if not, he could have made a difference today.

TMZ was the first to announce that the casting company wanted the actor to participate in a reality show, but the trade cited “Celebrity Rehab” instead of “Fit Club”. Corey reportedly was “extremely defensive and insulted, saying, ‘It’s the last show I’d ever do’.” A source said the 3-minute conversation ended with Corey saying, “I do not need help.”

The truth is, Corey’s agent said his client had plans to do reality show. Access Hollywood said it was a new show about a life coach that would bring his career back. The 38-year-old who starred in 1987 “The Lost Boys”, also has some films under his belt including which he would direct.

On Wednesday, March 10, Corey Haim was found unresponsive by his mother in the apartment they shared. He was taken to St. Joseph’s Medical Center in Burbank, California where he was pronounced dead at 12:15 A.M. Authorities found four prescription drugs inside his apartment but none was illegal. Corey has a history of drug abuse.

The Top 8 boys night on “American Idol” was kicked off by Lee Dewyze who sang “Fireflies” by Owl City. Randy Jackson said Lee made it work while Ellen DeGeneres pointed out that there was a couple of pitch problems. Kara Dioguardi said, “I think you made this a better song with your rendition.” Simon Cowell said there was nothing to rave about but Lee deserves a spot on the Top 12.

Alex Lambert picked “Trouble” by Ray LaMontagne. Randy gave a nod to the song choice but was not wowed. Ellen continued with the banana comparison saying Alex was “a mushy banana that’s ripening so fast.” Kara said he has potential but he had to do something with the stiffness. Simon said Alex should let it go, relax and have a good time.

Tim Urban was next, singing Leonard Cohen’s “Hallelujah”. Butchered by the judges in the last two weeks, Tim actually received praises this time. Randy said he did a pretty good job while Ellen got up from her seat and hugged him. Kara said, “Now I think you’re kind of in it.” Simon said, , “It wasn’t the best version I’ve ever heard, but for you it was terrific.”

Andrew Garcia surprisingly chose Christina Aguilera’s “Genie in a Bottle”. Randy said it was a good idea but simply did not work. Ellen said, “I thought it was a great song choice,” and added “[But] the genie came out of the bottle too late.” Kara reminded him how he did so well in the beginning of the show but could not revive it since. Simon said, “For me, it was a little bit desperate. You over-thought it. You are kind of still going backwards at the moment.”

Back to acoustic guitar, Casey James sang “You’ll Think of Me” by Keith Urban. Randy called it a safe choice but Ellen thought it was great. Kara liked it better than last week’s but she wants to see more from him. Simon said, “It was your second best. I think it made you sincere. I don’t think it’s something we’re going to be raving about in 24 hours - but you sounded great.”

Aaron Kelly sang Lonestar’s “I’m Already There”. Randy said he has a lot of work to do despite the potential to be a good singer. Ellen was not a fan, saying “You have the confidence of someone so much older. I just didn’t think that was terrific.” Kara made it more specific, saying it was the wrong song for him. On the other hand, Simon snapped, “What Kara said is rubbish. It wasn’t a great vocal, but what it did have was emotion. It’s just a nice song.”

Todrick Hall sang Queen’s “Somebody to Love” and made it theatrical. “Todrick is back! You proved that you could really sing. That was one of the best vocals I’m heard in the last couple of weeks,” Randy gushed. Ellen said it was a brave song choice and he did a good job. Kara said she was between loving it and laughing at it. Disliking the version, Simon said, “At least you made an attempt to perform, rather than just sitting on a stool.”

Michael Lynche closed the show with “Woman’s Work” by Maxwell. Excited Randy said, “Really? This is crazy! It was dope! That was hot!”. Ellen said the show just began and that Michael is the one to beat now. Kara had tears in her eyes and said “That was amazing.” Simon raved, “This was so needed tonight, because it was so boring at the beginning of the show. It’s the best performance of all these live shows so far.”

Troubled actor Charlie Sheen is preparing to leave rehab and get back to work - he’s slated to resume filming on his “Two and a Half Men” TV show at the end of next week. Production on the series was suspended in February when Sheen, who has a history of drug abuse, was admitted to a recovery facility as a “preventative measure”.

Sheen’s wife Brooke Mueller also received treatment in rehab following a turbulent few weeks for the couple, which began with a 2009 Christmas Day bust-up between the pair which saw Sheen arrested and charged with a string of felonies.

The 44-year-old is due back in court in Colorado on Monday, March 15 in connection with the ongoing case, and his publicist, Stan Rosenfield, has announced he will be out of rehab and back at work on March 19. He tells CNN, “He returns to the show for the March 19 taping.”
